Camping Trip to Eleven Mile State Park

We had a wonderful weekend camping with our friends, the Miners, at Eleven Mile this past weekend. I love to have my children outside running all over the place. It seems to make for a better night's sleep. Of course, a good night's sleep is all relative when you are sleeping on an incline and keep sliding down to the bottom of the tent all night! The kids enjoyed hiking up to the top of a huge rock. They stood at the top and yelled down to Mya, Jon, Gretchen, and I.

There is a lot I could share but I think pics do a better job of capturing the moment. We are all resting this morning and recovering from the sunburn and heat. But I think another trip is right around the corner...the kids are asking for a "luxury" camping trip. Shawn and I are wanting to do a roughing it trip complete with backpacking and hiking. So maybe we will have to do both before it gets cold! Enjoy the pics...

Just got back from camping and wanted to share these pics...more to come tomorrow. Tonight though I am just in awe at the majesty of our God. How great he is!!!!

Praise God! The MRI showed no growth!!!! So we return to the head in the sand vacation like life we have enjoyed for the past few months. The tic is believed to be from medication so medication changes are likely to be in the future. Got to run to the store for coffee cream...

MRI Day Has Arrived!!!!

I had this nice long well thought out post in my mind all day...but now that is 2:15 am and I have to get up in less than 3 hours I guess it has to wait. For now, I just wanted to let you all know so you could be praying for Jon this morning. He is scheduled for an MRI at 9 am. We will meet with the Dr. at 11 am to find out the results. I am sure they will be stable but my mommy heart gets nervous every time. It is kind of weird...you just never know. Life as I know it right now may stay exactly how it is or it may drastically change in seconds.

Also, Jon has developed some type of tic in the past week or so. We are not sure what is going on so pray for some insight on that as well.

Just not sure...

Please pray for me to have clarity of mind. My heart is tormented right now over the decision to "homeschool" the kids next year. There are so many thoughts and emotions going through my mind. I am actually surprised by the emotions that I am having. I desperately want to hear God's voice and be completely surrendered to it...but I can't tell if I can't hear it because my fear and pride are blocking it. Please pray for me to know what to do. And for God to reveal to me the root of the emotions and issues I am having. Everything is complicated by the complexity that Jonathan brings to our lives.

Oh- Jon has an MRI scheduled for THursday. Please also be in prayer about this. He has been doing fairly well but he has developed a tic of some sort and we are not sure what is going on.

Flashes of Hope

Shortly after we moved here, we were in Denver at the hospital for Jonathan's chemo and other visits. It just happened to be the day that this incredible organization, Flashes of Hope, was there. They take beautiful black and white photos of children with cancer and their families and then provide them to the families free of charge. Today, we recieved this incredible gift in the mail...a cd with all of the pictures, a leather case with 2 8x10 portraits, and a set of proofs. With their permission and my gratefulness I wanted to share with you a glimpse of this special gift.
